We are NOT a wire service! A floral wire service is a company that acts as an intermediary between customers and florists. Customers can place orders with the wire service, and the wire service then relays the order to a local florist who fulfills the order and delivers the flowers. The wire service takes a commission (a BIG one!) on the sale. Wire services typically take a commission of between 20-30% on the sale, leaving florists with a much smaller profit margin than if they had sold the flowers directly to the customer. This can result in the customer getting fewer flowers in their arrangement. This reduction in profit margins can make it difficult for florists to stay in business. Many florists end up having to cut corners to make ends meet, such as using lower-quality flowers or reducing staff hours. Another significant issue with floral wire services is that they often do not give florists control over the quality of the flowers they are delivering.
There are also floral order gathers or OG. A floral order gather is an e-Commerce business that advertises floral products it does not actually produce but instead calls the floral order out to a local florist. An OG often provides misleading advertisements or information. They also add extra cost and a hefty commission. For example, if you place an order on an OG website and pay $75 for a flower arrangement, $15 for delivery and another $10 for their "service fees" plus tax, the OG will try to send that order to a "REAL" florist to design and deliver it fr them. However, they only send the "REAL" Florist $45 (or less) to do so. This means your recipient will most likely NOT receive what you have ordered for them because the "REAL" Florist can't create a $75 valued arrangement plus deliver it for $45. Here is a list of OG's
